F.A.Q.

1. What is an e-Pizza anyway ?

An e-Pizza is a digitally delivered pizza, rendered in mouthwatering 3D, for pizza enthuisiasts to savour at their screens or to be sent as greetings or gif(t)s to friends.

2. Why can't you just put my e-Pizza on my browser screen ?

Every e-Pizza is freshly prepared for each individual order. Although this doesn't take very long, at peak periods a backlog can develop. Rather than risk disappointing customers with browser timeouts we only undertake e-mail delivery, knowing that we can fulfill it. If you require faster service perhaps you should try the Internet Pizza Server (see below).

3. What's this about the images not being copyable ?

'Fraid so. The e-Pizza images are not public domain. Copyright remains with Pizzas by Post Limited. Or someone. But neither you nor the recipient can use them, reproduce them, or circulate them without permission, with the exception of printed copies for the recipient's personal use.

WHY ? Each e-Pizza is freshly produced, and unique, and we'd like to keep them that way. Who wants to find old pizza all over the place ? It's bad enough in the fridge, let's keep it off the web. Remember - if someone else wants one, you or they can come back here and send them a new one.
If you do want to use e-Pizza for promotional purposes, or to include it in your own web sites, please get in touch. Private use is usually easy to agree.

4. What if I don't want an e-Pizza ?

Well we hope you'll try them first. But if you've been the recipient of an unwanted e-Pizza and you don't want it to happen again you can subscribe (at no cost) to the Pizza Preference Service, our list of blocked e-mail addresses.

5. So what is the Pizza Preference Service ?

It's to stop people sending you virtual pizzas you don't want. It's a little bit more special than most opt out lists because you can block pizzas with specific ingredients. For example if you don't like olives you can stop people sending you pizzas with olives on them. Or of course you can stop us sending you pizzas at all.

For more details on how to use this go to the Pizza Preferences Page You can see an example of how it works by trying to send a mushroom pizza to nomushrooms@ pizzasbypost (.com) We're pretty certain this service is unique on the web.

6. Why aren't there more ingredients available ?

Making pizza ingredients available online is quite a time (and processor) intensive process. If e-Pizza proves popular with the online community we will have the incentive to extend it and add more ingredients. Please e-mail us with any ingredients you would like to see available. (Even better, send us a POV-Ray source file for it and we'll make it available all the sooner.)

7. Is Pizzas by Post a real business ?

Pizzas by Post Limited is company number 3920965 , a company registered in England and Wales. Which doesn't really answer the question but that's why it's frequently asked.

8. What should I do if I'm not satisfied with my e-Pizza ?

You should e-mail our customer care department (complaints has such negative connotations). The e-mail address is customer_care. (Add @pizzasbypost.com to this of course - we don't put this in full in the web page any more since we started getting auto-generated spam e-mail sent to the old address.)

9. And what is the Internet Pizza Server ?

The Internet Pizza Server also supplies digital pizza over the web. It has been a web presence for much longer than us, but although their 'pizza elves' can display a picture to a browser window, and offer many more ingredients, they only display a plan view of the product. Serving the market in different ways, we believe there's room for both of us on the web.

10. How is Pizzas by Post different from the Internet Pizza Server ?

The IPS is the fast food option for e-Pizza. You can have your pizza (almost) straight away. Pizzas by Post on the other hand do the real thing, the gourmet product rendered in glorious 3D. But you have to wait a little.

Also, as they themselves proudly proclaim, the IPS use recycled ingredients in their pizzas, albeit only electrons. We boast that all our pizzas are completely fresh.

Besides, they also do such bizarre ingredients as basketballs on your pizza. We think they might not be taking themselves entirely seriously.

11. What about SPAM ?

No, we don't do spam. And we've no intention of adding it to the ingredients list. Whoever heard of a spam pizza ?

Oh, I see what you mean. SPAM.

We hate SPAM. And we really dislike spammers. Our terms and conditions require that you do not use our pizzas to harrass individuals or as a junk mail medium. To ensure this we will only send a single pizza to a given address each day. And we will only allow a limited number of orders from you each day.
So we don't believe that our virtual pizzas are SPAM - for a start we don't bulk mail. But to show we take this seriously we have developed the Pizza Preference Service, so that anyone who is receiving unwanted pizzas can block them.

12. Why can't I use ingredients from the pizzas you supply by post on my pizza ?

That would be silly.

Besides, people don't tend to know what an aardvark pizza looks like, so they get a bit confused about what's going on.

13. Why do you only do e-Pizza ? Why can't I order my Pizza by Post online ?

Our current ingredients supply chain is not able to support bulk orders. Before we implement online ordering we want to gauge the demand rather than find ourselves swamped and unable to fill our customer orders.
